Sawamura Tanosuke III as Okaji, 1863

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of Sawamura Tanosuke III as Okaji, the frightened wife of the otokodate or street knight Danshichi Kurobei, cowering behind her kimono sleeve, her other hand resting atop a sewing chest. A pair of scissors lies on the ground nearby, and signs hang on the back wall. A handsome design, nicely composed.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few small holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
