Comments - Fantastic triptych of the Soga Brothers attacking their father's murderer, Suketsune, at the Shogun Yoritomo's hunting camp at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Wearing a butterfly patterned kimono, the younger brother Goro stands his ground in the center, sending several opponents flying with a stroke of his sword. His brother Juro can be seen at upper left, gripping his katana overhead with both hands, wearing his trademark bird kimono. At right, a group of retainers has tumbled to the ground, tripping over one another and sprawling in an undignified heap. At top center, other samurai flee in the wake of the surprise attack. A dramatic action scene from this terrific tale of honor and revenge. A great subject for a samurai enthusiast.
