Comments - Handsome image of Prince Genji arriving at a shrine in spring. The nobleman stands next to his palanquin at left, grinning happily at the beauties in the center and gesturing with his fan. At right, a young girl, a woman with a shamisen over her shoulder, and a beauty carrying a pipe and small wooden pail smile with amusement at the woman stumbling around on the path behind them, who seems to have drunk too much sake. In the background, attendants lead a small princess down the stone steps towards the large torii gate, blossoming cherry trees dotting the grassy slope. A charming design, nicely detailed.
