Original Kuniteru II (1829 - 1874) Japanese Woodblock Print
Courtesans of the Shinagawa-ya

Comments - Terrific view of courtesans of the Shinagawa-ya establishment in the Yoshiwara, out for a stroll in front of their modern stone building. Each wears an elegant kimono and obi and extremely tall wooden geta clogs. The beauty in the center has a striking black obi with a fierce dragon on it. A young kamuro or child apprentice following behind her. Beauties can be seen on the verandah above, leaning over the balustrade. A great image with wonderful color and detail in the clothing and architectural setting.

Artist - Kuniteru II (1829 - 1874)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight creasing and soiling, a few small spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
